Welcome to episode # 130 of the Rock Interview Series.
Joining me today is guitar legend Gary Hoey. Gary has had an incredible career, first gaining attention auditioning for Ozzy Osbourne in 1987, then formed the hard rock band Heavy Bones in 1990. Their debut dropped in 1992, just as grunge was taking over, so Hoey pivoted and launched his solo career with the mostly instrumental record Animal Instinct in 1993, featuring his standout cover of ‘Hocus Pocus.’ He went on to score Endless Summer II, contribute to Office Space, and release a string of standout albums. Now, after a six-year stretch, he’s back with “Avalanche”-an album that blends melody, profound lyrics, and pure guitar brilliance.
