Amherst, NY- The University of Buffalo (UB) hosted a very unique and fascinating event last Tuesday afternoon. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and shock-rock music legend Alice Cooper, along with his longtime manager and UB alumnus Shep Gordon, held a 60-minute-long candid conversation about their 50 years plus business partnership and friendship.
An audience consisting of some of Alice’s most dedicated local fans hung on to every word as Alice and Shep shared interesting stories on topics ranging from building Alice’s audience, songwriting stories, and working with the likes of Frank Zappa, Groucho Marx and the Muppets. Also noteworthy, was the mention that Alice and Shep began their business relationship on just a handshake and never had a signed business contract between them.
This once in a lifetime event was free admission, but an absolutely priceless experience. Plus, the fact that it was held at one of the best acoustically sounding event facilities in WNY made it even more incredible.
Alice Cooper performed a concert later on this date at Shea’s Theater in Buffalo, NY. For the review and photos, click here.
