Rik Emmett – Triumph (1975-1988) Rock Interview Series episode # 96- 03/01/2024

Welcome to Episode #96 of the Rock Interview Series. For this episode, iconic guitarist/singer/songwriter Rik Emmett is the featured guest. Rik was a member of the multiplatinum selling power trio TRIUMPH from 1975-1988. While with TRIUMPH, Rik wrote some of the band’s biggest hits including: “Hold On.” Lay It on The Line,” Magic Power,” “Fight the Good Fight” and “Somebody’s Out There.”

After Rik decided to leave the TRIUMPH, he established himself as a solo artist, releasing his first solo record “ABSOLUTELY” in 1990.

During this exclusive interview, Rik talks about his new release “Diamonds: The Best of the Hard Rock Years 1990-1995.” This is a compilation record that consists of remastered tracks from Rik’s first 3 solo studio records. In addition, Rik also discusses his time in TRIUMPH, the US Festival, having Yngwie Malmsteen open for TRIUMPH, his solo career, and future plans.

In 2002, I decided to started my own music webzine, and it was then that I launched GlamMetal.com.  This was a site that primarily focused on the many great hard-rock bands of the 80's such as Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt, and you know the rest of them. So here we are, and what a great trip it's been.  Over the years, I've interviewed and photographed hundreds of amazing music artists.  I still get just as excited about hearing new music today,  as I did as a 12 year old kid, listening to KISS for the very first time.  I really hope that you can find enjoyment out of my articles and photos.  Hopefully, God willing, I will be able to provide many more over the next few years.
