Rocky Newton- Lionheart, McAuley Schenker Group (1986-91)-Rock Interview Series #26 video interview

Welcome to episode # 26 of the “Rock Interview Series.” For this episode, bassist/songwriter Rocky Newton is our guest.

Rocky is currently in the British rock band, Lionheart, which also features former Iron Maiden guitarist -Dennis Stratton, former McAuley Schenker Group guitarist/keyboardist – Steve Mann, former UFO drummer – Clive Edwards and vocalist Lee Smalls. Lionheart released an incredible 13 track, melodic-rock masterpiece entitled, “Reality of Miracles” in July of 2020.

Rocky Newton is best known for his time in the MSG (McAuley Schenker Group) from 1986-91. He performed on the the “Perfect Timing” (1987) and Save Yourself (1989) releases. In addition to playing bass, Rocky also has several co-writes on those two albums, including the singles, “Gimme Your Love,” “Love Is Not a Game” and “Time.” (See videos below.)

In addition, Rocky also sang background vocals on Def Leppard’s multi-platinum release “Hysteria.”
