Welcome to episode # 37 of the Rock Interview series. My guest for this feature is Mark Stein, vocalist, keyboardist of the classic rock band Vanilla Fudge.
Vanilla Fudge is a four-piece band that was formed in 1967 in Long Island, New York. In addition to Stein, the original line-up of the band also included Tim Bogert -bass, Vince Martell – guitar and Carmine Appice – drums.
Vanilla Fudge quickly developed a reputation as a great live band, and had a massive hit with the song “You Keep Me Hangin’ On.” During the late 60’s, Vanilla Fudge were extremely influential to bands such as Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and many more. Led Zeppelin opened for Vanilla Fudge on several shows during 1968.
In addition to Vanilla Fudge, Mark Stein also performed in the Tommy Bolin band and Alice Cooper band.
Mark Stein will be releasing his first solo record, entitled, “There’s A Light,” to be released on NOVEMBER 26TH, 2021. His first single “We Are One” is currently available to view below. It is a true melodic masterpiece.
