Welcome to episode #71 of the Rock Interview Series. For this episode, the legendary Buffalo, NY, born bass player Billy Sheehan is the featured guest.

During his impressive 50-year career, Billy has become one of the most renowned bass players in rock music. His innovative style has earned him countless awards and accolades throughout his career while performing in bands Talas, UFO, Mr. Big, the Winery Dogs, David Lee Roth, Niacin, Sons of Apollo and others.

Currently, Billy is touring with the power trio the Winery Dogs, which also features all-star musicians Ritchie Kotzen on guitar and vocals and Mike Portnoy on drums. The Winery Dogs just released their brilliant third studio album, entitled 3, on February 3, 2023.

What follows is an exclusive interview in which Billy talks about the current Winery Dogs tour and record and also discusses his time with Mr. Big, TALAS, David Lee Roth, UFO, and much more. So here he is, Billy Sheehan!

In 2002, I decided to started my own music webzine, and it was then that I launched GlamMetal.com.  This was a site that primarily focused on the many great hard-rock bands of the 80's such as Motley Crue, Poison, Ratt, and you know the rest of them. Then in 2009, I decided that I wanted to write about all types of music, so I changed the site name to RockMusicStar.com.  This way I could truly cover all different types of rock music. So here we are, and what a great trip it's been.  Over the years, I've interviewed and photographed hundreds of amazing music artists.  I still get just as excited about hearing new music today,  as I did as a 12 year old kid, listening to KISS for the very first time.  I really hope that you can find enjoyment out of my articles and photos.  Hopefully, God willing, I will be able to provide many more over the next few years.
