By Thomas S. Orwat, Jr.

Hearts & Hand Grenades is a new and exciting hard rock band from Buffalo, NY. Their debut full length record, ‘Turning to Ashes’ was released on January 8, 2021 (on Eclipse Records) and is receiving amazing reviews all around the world. The band consists of members: Stephanie Wlosinski – vocals / bass, Mike Bless – guitar, Tom Lafferty on drums, and Kenny Blesy on lead guitar.

Hearts & Hand Grenades originally started off as a cover band, regularly performing in Western New York clubs and bars. After a performance opening for the Goo Goo Dolls on the Variety Club telethon, the band was approached by the Goo’s Robby Takac. He immediately saw the potential of Hearts & Hand Grenades and offered them recording time at his GCR recording studio.

The band then put together some original songs and began working them into their setlist. Satisfied with the reaction, they continued writing and recording and released a four track EP. They proceeded to work hard developing their sound and style.

After putting together some more new material, the band returned to CGR studio’s and began recording their debut full length release with producer Justin Rose, who also worked with the Goo Goo Dolls and James Taylor.

What resulted was, ‘Turning to Ashes,’ an epic 8 song release that incorporates elements of modern, classic and alternative rock music, fueled with raw power and profound lyrics. This impressive collection of songs can not be ignored. ‘Turning To Ashes” is a record that will help establish Hearts & Hand Grenades as one of the most important new bands in rock music.
