Welcome to episode # 51 with guest Gil Moore, drummer, vocalist, songwriter and band leader of the multi-platinum Canadian power trio – TRIUMPH!

Moore formed TRIUMPH in 1975, along with RIk Emmett on guitar and vocals and Mike Levine on bass and keyboards. The three together were an unstoppable musical force that quickly ascended from playing high schools and clubs to prestigious theaters and hockey arenas.

During the 1980’s, TRIUMPH was one of the most popular bands in rock music, playing sold out shows in front of 10’s of thousands and selling millions of records. Their hit hit singles included: “Magic Power,” “Hold On.” “Somebody’s Out There, “Follow Your Heart” and many more.

However, classic line-up of TRIUMPH came to to an unexpected halt on September 3, 1988 at Kingswood Music Theatre in Vaughan ON, Canada, when Rik Emmett abruptly left the band after their performance.

TRIUMPH did reunite 20 years later, but only performed two full shows since then: Rocklahoma and Sweden Rocks 2008.

Recently, a documentary entitled TRIUMPH: Rock & Roll Machine was released. This highly entertaining and interesting film chronicles the entire career of TRIUMPH. This a must see for any fan of TRIUMPH and rock music.
